Dr. Akel is a caring and experienced Board-Certified Pediatrician who is passionate about supporting children and families with both compassion and expertise. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, where he trained in caring for children with a wide range of medical needs.

In addition to general pediatrics, Dr. Akel has contributed to research and published work in Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Gastroenterology. He also completed a Psychiatry Fellowship for Primary Care Physicians at the University of California, Irvine, which allows him to provide thoughtful care for both the physical and emotional well-being of children.

Dr. Akel has cared for families from many different backgrounds and is fluent in multiple languages, making him especially dedicated to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for all.   Jackeline Baciu is not only a dedicated nurse practitioner but also a proud mother, which deepens her passion for caring for children and supporting families. With over six years of experience as a pediatric emergency nurse, she combines advanced training with a gentle, compassionate approach to every visit.

Jackeline began her nursing journey with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from CSU San Bernardino and went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner at United States University.

Her professional experience includes years of service at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital, where she cared for children of all ages in the pediatric emergency department. Her special interests include pediatric trauma care, patient safety, and family education. She is also committed to mentorship, having guided new nurses and contributed to improving care processes for children and their families.

Jackeline is certified in (BLS),  (ALS), (PALS), (NRP), ensuring that families can feel confident their little ones are in skilled hands.

Above all, Jackeline strives to make every child feel safe, comforted, and cared for — partnering with parents to support each child’s health and well-being.

Joanne Jimenez is a caring and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about supporting children and families. She began her nursing journey with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honors from California State University, San Bernardino, and later earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner at United States University in San Diego.

Joanne has years of experience in emergency care, having worked at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana and Riverside Community Hospital, a busy Level 1 Trauma Center. These experiences gave her the skills to care for patients of all ages, including children, in urgent and high-stress situations.

She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and holds advanced certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Joanne is committed to making every family feel welcome, comfortable, and understood.

Parents describe Joanne as kind, approachable, and thorough. She loves building strong relationships with families, answering questions, and helping parents feel confident about their child’s care.
